Products and Programs

The Center for Litigation and Courts offers a range of products and programs for academics, government officials, judges, lawyers, students, and the general public.

The Center publishes The Judges’ Book, an annual compilation of summaries of new UC Law SF faculty scholarship of particular relevance to judges. The Judges’ Book is mailed free of charge to federal judges nationwide and California state judges. UC Law SF maintains a freely accessible electronic repository of all volumes of The Judges’ Book.

In partnership with The Huntington National Bank, the Center produces an annual report on antitrust class-action cases in federal court. The most recent Antitrust Annual Report is available for free download here.

The Center runs the California Appellate Advocacy Program, which offers oral-argument prep to appellate practitioners appearing before the California Supreme Court and other appellate courts across the nation. Please contact the Center for availability.

From 2021-2023, the Center produced the periodic Litigation Briefs: Media Shorts on Law and Courts, an interview-based series focused on engaging the lay public with current issues of civil litigation and the judiciary. Episodes of Litigation Briefs are archived and available for free on YouTube and as an audio podcast.

For students, the Center is the focal point for the Civil Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution Concentration, a curricular program offered to UC Law SF students interested in careers in civil litigation. The Center produces the Litigation Careers video series, a set of video interviews of UC Law SF alumni from various litigation careers—biglaw, plaintiff firms, in-house counsel, public interest, career clerks, government attorneys, and the like—discussing what life is really like in those jobs. The Center also organizes and supports the UC Law SF Trial Team.
